Cinematheque will pay tribute to William Burroughs, dean of the Beat Generation, satirist nonpareil, author of the notorious Naked Lunch, shootist and cat lover. Energy And How To Get It (1982) by Robert Frank, featuring Burroughs: “Begins as a documentary – turns into fiction and fusion.” (R.F.); Towers Open Fire (1963) by Antony Balch, written by and starring Burroughs; “…direct film equivalent of Burroughs’ writing…” (Ian Cameron, Movie); The Discipline of D.E.
