Expropriated Images: Recent Found Films
Fascination with found or appropriated material continues to be one of the prime interests among independent/ experimental filmmakers, and the Fall Cinematheque calendar includes films by several who have worked extensively within this mode. Tonight’s program offers a sampler of approaches to the reworking of pre-existing imagery, and several are by local filmmakers. All are laced with social and political motifs which a critical distance from the past affords.
