Tim Bruce is an English filmmaker who has lived in Ohio for 4 years. “My filmwork has explored sound/image relationships, both formally and as a way of producing a range of meanings through their juxtapositions. Both View… and Looking present such juxtapositions, producing counterpoints of meaning and in View…, reinforcing camera strategies and editing.

On Looking, my first American film, is, as the title suggests, “about looking,” curiosity in “the other,” the process of making public the personal, the private. Dealing with sexual relationships as an overt theme, various texts are utilized …the soundtrack of a sex-education film, a radio dating service, a personal diary and more, interwoven and juxtaposed with a series of portrait and landscape shots made in the midwest.” (T.B.)
