Canyon Cinema Nights: Chick's Favorite Pics

San Francisco Art Institute

Tonight initiates a series of guest-curated programs selected from Canyon Cinema, the Bay Area’s premier distributor of alternative film. Chick Strand, co-founder of Canyon Cinema in the early ’60s, has chosen works that still quicken her heart and had an important influence in her own creative life: Hindle’s Pastoral D’Eté and Billabong; Baillie’s Tung, Castro Street, and All My Life; Anger’s Eaux d’Artifice; Brakhage’s Mothlight and Window Water Baby Moving; Conner’s Cosmic Ray and A Movie; Kubelka’s Unsere Afrikareise and O’Neill’s 7362.
